Our client, a Telecommunications MNC is looking for a Solutions Engineer who, with their knowledge will improve engagement with customers and will support the Asian Pacific and global Sales team. This position will play a key role in designing and delivering solutions for multinational customers, by applying the right balance of traditional telecom knowledge and software and software-defined network enabling technologies.
You will be reporting to the Director of Global Solutions Engineering.
【What will you be working on】
- Articulate the business story and proposition.
- Provide expert knowledge around the internet, telecom, SD-WAN, and cloud.
- Engage with the sales teams, and learn and articulate customer needs and requirements.
- Perform technical pre-qualification and due diligence of opportunities, including recommending bid or no-bid decisions on complex proposals and engagements.
- Respond to customer requests for proposals, information, quotations, technical questions, and produce quality technical designs and bills of materials for those proposals.
- Produce high-level designs for complex projects involving SD-WAN/SASE/security technologies.
- Produce detailed migration plans supporting the transition from traditional WAN Networks.
- Keep up to date on the constant changes in software-defined networking, security, Telcom, cloud, and the internet of things (IoT).

【What they are looking for】
- Minimum Degree
- Ideally certified with a CCNA/CCNP or equivalent in vendor knowledge or experience.
- Fluent in Japanese (JLPT N1/N2) and English in order to liaise smoothly with Japanese counterparts.
- More than 5 years of relevant experience in a Solutions Engineer/Sales Engineer/Pre-Sales Engineer/System Engineer/Design Architect role.
- Strong background or understanding of Telcom, Internet, IP routing, BGP, and IP peering.
- Experience in supporting the design of enterprise IT or global networking solutions.
- Able to travel for face-to-face meetings, functions, conferences and other engagements (25% travel per month, post-pandemic). |
